Video Heritage

The Interview

The purpose of the Video Heritage Project is to produce a visual record of the life and times of the Toe River Valley of Western North Carolina through a narrative format of individual histories and stories. This project is sponsored by the Traditional Voices Group, a 501(c)3 non-profit group based in Burnsville NC.

The stories or memories will be recorded by our videographers and interviewers in a local setting that is of the interviewee’s choosing in a manner that is relaxed and conducive to storytelling.

The stories or interviews will be finalized in a DVD format that will be archived for study at the Yancey County Mountain Heritage Center. These DVD memories may be used for a future Heritage documentary project.

If you would like to be interviewed and have your story told and receive a DVD copy of your story contact us at Traditional Voices Group, 119 Green Mountain Drive, Burnsville, NC 28714, or by phone at 828-682-9654.
